Editing Events
Where to Edit
In the main Event Editor window, users can edit events by double-clicking on them or by right-clicking and selecting "Edit event..." Alternatively, users can select the event and click the "Edit event..." button. This action opens the "Edit Event" dialog, where users can modify various settings.
Editing Event Details
The dialog displays the current event name and optional description, which users can change if needed. Additionally, the gallery ID helps identify which gallery photos should be added to when utilizing online gallery systems like EventKite. Tokens such as {eventKiteGalleryId} and {eventKiteSessionId} can be used in email messages or QR codes to identify galleries and photo sets.
Profiles
Events consist of profiles that define settings and asset folders. A single profile is sufficient for simple events, while more complex ones may offer user choices through multiple profiles. The "Edit" button next to the profile path allows users to adjust settings for each profile. The "Photo Booth Settings" dialog, accessible via this button, features seven tabs for defining event settings.
Screen Folder and Profiles
Visual assets like screen images, virtual props, overlays, and backgrounds are stored in screen folders, the location of which is specified in the "General Settings" screen. Events can comprise one or more profiles, each stored in a separate subfolder within the event's folder. Profiles offer flexibility, allowing users to offer choices to guests or tailor settings for different orientations.
Each profile folder contains a settings.xml file, screen files, and a manifest file listing file checksums for updating events on iPads. Manifest files are automatically updated when settings are saved but can be regenerated manually if needed.
Users can specify default and initial profiles for event startup and define touchscreen actions to load specific profiles during the photo booth session.
Copying Profiles from Another Event
To copy a profile from another event, users can click the "..." button next to the profile in the Edit Event dialog. This action opens a file dialog, enabling users to select the settings.xml file of the profile to be copied. A confirmation prompt appears, asking whether to copy the profile folder to the current event folder. Users can then enter the subfolder name and click "Copy" to complete the process.
